When you Sync from the Beginning, Every Block is Processed and Verified, This takes a considerable amount of time, since ZEIT is over 4 years old, you are looking at over 4 weeks to sync from the network. You can Bypass this delay by downloading a Blockchain Snapshot . Some people prefer to sync from scratch, for those it is recommended to write a script or batch file to restart the ZEIT Client every 4 hours, if your choice is to sync from scratch.

Wallets can only recognize transactions of blocks they have downloaded, if the block with your transaction being sent to your wallet has not yet been download/synced, then you won't see it on your wallet until you do sync that block. You can verify your coins amounts at any time in the Block Explorer at chainz.cryptoid.info/zeit

Once your Zeit Wallet is completely Synced. Check your Balance, if the Balance is incorrect. Click on Help, click Debug Window, click Console, type in repair wallet and hit enter. Then check your balance. If the balance is still not correct from a command prompt run zeitcoin-qt.exe Rescan will take a little while but should correct your balance info.

Click on File > Backup Wallet Backup it up on multiple devices such as flash drives or USB hard drives. Store in fire proof locations.

Rename current wallet.dat to wallet.blank and copy the backup to the Zeitcoin directory.
6 What's the Zeitcoin block size ?
Minimum size is 4 kilobytes, Maximum size is 1 megabyte, the more transactions the larger the file.
7 I sent some coins to an address, how soon do I see them ?
Usually within a few seconds of being placed on the network and depending on your internet speed.
8 How many confirmations before a transaction is confirmed ?
The zeit Wallet lists coins as received after 4 confirmations. Exchanges usually required higher confirmations before acknowledging receipt of coins.
9 How do I check hashes of the downloaded wallet and snapshot ?
Use any Checksum Program that shows the checksums such as MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility.
10 How do I encrypt my wallet and what does an encrypted wallet do ?
Click on Settings > Encrypt Wallet
CAUTION! If you lose the encryption password, you lose access to your coins and no one can help.
This process encrypts your wallet's private key so even if someone gets a copy of your wallet.dat file , they can't access your coins unless they know your encryption key. If your wallet is not encrypted anyone that has access to your wallet.dat can send your coins anywhere without your consent.
11 How do I check hashes of the downloaded wallet and snapshot ?
After a Wallet is encrypted you have to unlock it by entering the password. This will allow you to Mint, Stake or send coins.
12 What is Minting / Staking ?
Minting / Staking is the term used for how POS coins secure the network and generate new coins and process transactions in a Proof of Stake Network. Minting / Staking is extremely energy efficient verses Proof of Work (Bitcoin) mining, which is energy wasteful.
13 Is it necessary to stake my coins ?
It is completely optional. However staking coins rewards the user with extra coins and helps secure the network, but it is down to personal choice.
14 Should I keep my coins in an exchange, is it safe ?
Use your best judgement. We do not give financial advice however our rule is never to leave more coins sitting on a exchange than the amount you are willing to lose. By leaving your coins on an exchange you are allowing a 3rd party to determine your coins security and if that 3rd party is compromised your coins could be forfeit.
